Episode 011 - Pre-Order Madness and Upcoming Releases
The indie film grind never stops, and neither do we. As *The Jester* Blu-ray pre-orders wrap up, we’re diving headfirst into Big Damn Films’ future. In Episode 011 of *The Big Damn Podcast*, hosts Michael Jane and Logan Liskovec break down what’s next, including updates on *Rifters*, *ZCON*, and our growing collaboration with Darkstone Entertainment.
Final Days of *The Jester* Pre-Orders
If you haven’t grabbed your copy of *The Jester* on Blu-ray, now’s your last chance. We’ve spent months upscaling this 17-year-old indie horror classic to 1080p, and we’re even pushing to make it available in 4K. It’s been a learning experience, but a crucial one—because this process is paving the way for future releases from the Darkstone archives.
The Future is Sci-Fi: *Rifters*
Speaking of future releases, *Rifters* is in the home stretch. With its original score by Justin Timpage nearly complete, we’re eyeing an early 2025 streaming release. And if you’re a fan of *Browncoat’s Redemption*, you’ll be excited to know that C.T. Geraghty joins the cast, just like *The Jester* had Ted Taylor.
The *ZCON* Update: Why We’re Pushing to 2025
We’ve been transparent about our plans for *ZCON*, and while we initially aimed for a 2024 release, pushing it to 2025 just makes sense. More time means better storytelling, a properly paced production, and the ability to take the film in the right direction without cutting corners. We’re not crowdfunding any further, so all funding will come from other revenue sources—including our ongoing collaboration with Darkstone Entertainment.
14 Projects with Darkstone? You Heard That Right
Darkstone founder John Johnson has an unstoppable creative mind, and we’re thrilled to be working with him on no less than 14 projects over the next few years. That includes new films, restorations of hidden gems like *Deacon*, and some deep-cut Darkstone archives getting the 1080p treatment.
